Polish-Taiwanese Hydrogen Cooperation

Yesterday, we had the honor to co-organize, together with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and Krajowa Izba Gospodarcza (Polish Chamber of Commerce) a special meeting with the Taiwan Hydrogen Delegation, initiated by the Taipei Representative Office in Poland. 🇹🇼🇵🇱

The delegation was led by Chih-Wei Wu, Deputy Director General of the Energy Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs (Taiwan), who was accompanied by representatives of Taiwanese institutes, companies, and ministries engaged and interested in the development of the hydrogen economy.


On the Polish side, the meeting gathered, among others: H.E. Ambassador Cyryl Kozaczewski: Former Director of the Polish Office in Taipei and Head of Strategic Projects at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Przemysław Ruchlicki: representing Economic Policy Bureau at Krajowa Izba Gospodarcza (Polish Chamber of Commerce); Włodzimierz Karpiński: former Minister of State Treasury and Board Advisor at Hynfra; Tomoho Umeda: President of Hydrogen Poland; Piotr Andrusiewicz: CEO of Enea Wytwarzanie & Enea Elektrownia Połaniec; Maciej Krakowiak: Director of the Energy Transformation Division at ENEA; Robert Witek: Board Member of Enea ELKOGAZ; Alex Naumann: Board Member of Hydrogen Poland and Vice-Chairman of the Hydrogen Technologies Committee at the Krajowa Izba Gospodarcza (Polish Chamber of Commerce).


Key presentations were delivered by:


🟢 Sebastian Lai, Taiwan Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Partnership, Sharing insights on hydrogen industry development;


🟢 Tomoho Umeda, emphasizing the decarbonization potential of the Polish market;


🟢 Piotr Andrusiewicz, highlighting the company’s transformation efforts with particular focus on the challenges of co-firing in existing coal-fired units and the requirements stemming from EU regulations.


The meeting concluded with an inspiring discussion, underlining the importance of Polish-Taiwanese cooperation in hydrogen and energy transition. 🌍⚡
